Arnold Palmer Course On Tap
for NC State University
North Carolina State University will build a new $11.4 million Arnold Palmer-designed golf course on the university's downtown Raleigh "Centennial Campus."
The 18-hole Lonnie Poole Golf Course will feature a 7025-yard, par-71 layout. The university is one of only 18 schools in the nation accredited by the PGA of America to offer a Bachelor of Science in professional golf management (PGM).
Located on 200 acres at the campus' southern end, the course will be Palmer's first designed for a college campus. Also planned are a state-of-the-art clubhouse and adjoining 12,000-square-foot building for classrooms and meetings.
Slated for a spring 2009 completion, the new course is convenient to the new Raleigh Convention Center and Marriott City Center headquarters hotel slated to open in Summer 2008. Check out the full NC State Press Release
