An award-winning travel and lifestyle writer, Kathy Witt (www.kathywitt.com), author of our "Southern Journeys Blog," boasts 25 years of travel writing experience, is a Kentucky resident, and relishes all things Southern! 

A "Gone with the Wind" enthusiast, Witt is shown in the photo above with three actors who, as youngsters, appeared in the iconic 1939 film. Greg Geise played the baby of both Melanie Wilkes and Scarlett O'Hara Butler. Patrick Curtis also played Melanie Wilkes' baby and Mickey Kuhn played Beau Wilkes. 

Witt posed with the trio at the Hilton Atlanta/Marietta hotel during "Gone with the Wind's" 70th anniversary re-premiere event in Georgia.

Witt's articles have appeared elsewhere in SouthernTravelNews.com as well as in such publications as A.T. Journeys, Georgia Magazine, Kentucky Living, Long Weekends, Ohio Magazine and Travel Goods Showcase, as well as in newspapers across the country. Her “Travel Goods, Gadgets & Gear” column runs in McClatchy-Tribune newspapers. 

Author of several books including the novel, "The Secret of the Belles," Witt is currently writing the content for "Atlanta, Georgia: a Photographic Portrait,"  slated to be published in spring 2012.

Witt is currently a member of Midwest Travel Writers Association, International Travel Writers Alliance, The Authors Guild and The Society of Children’s Book Writers & Illustrators.

Great Locomotive Chase & Civil War in Marietta, GA
